Monika Dietrich-Lüders was born in Salzgitter and studied literature and history in Bielefeld. After her teacher training in Wilhelmshaven and an apprenticeship as media- and PR-specialist, she worked as a PR-editor and an assistant editor for a variety of agencies, at a PR-department of a cruise operator based in Bremen, and for multiple publishing houses, for many years.Currently, she teaches German as a second language at Volkshochschule Bremen. Moreover, Diterich-Lüders volunteers for a culture initiative in her neighbourhood where she organises events.
Her daughter was the inspiration to start writing for children. She published her first youth novel Ella und Max – Auf der Spur des Voodoo-Zaubers at Sujet Verlag in 2012 (as licences editions 2013 at Schroedel Verlag). Ten short stories for children were produced by mawinti (Indi-Audio) as a personalised audiobook for children. Monika Dietrich-Lüders currently lives in Bremen.
