Lothar Bührmann was born in Bremen in 1946. He used to work as a freelance artist and lived near his home town. His works were presented in individual exhibitions as well as group exhibitions in, inter alia, England, Italy, Japan, Russia, Spain, the Netherlands, and the United States. In 1997, he received the Friedens- und Kulturpreis of the Villa Ichon. In 2003/04, he was a scholar of the German academy Casa Baldi in Olevano Romana, Italy. His literary cartoons were published in newspapers, magazines and in form of books, as for instance in Gekacheltes Innenleben (1996) and Texte und Zeichen II (2015).
He passed away August 2019.
