"Everything ended with the blow of the sharp iron that fell on his head. The dreams were over. There was no hope left. The eyesight went out. Longings disperse.” Halim Youssef reads from his latest novel “99 Scattered Pearls” in Berlin-Kreuzberg.

On April 13, 2024, Halim Youssef will read from his novel “99 Scattered Pearls” in Essen. The novel tells about Azado and how he experiences and goes through different stages of his life. The past is cleverly linked with the present. This is symbolically illustrated by Azado's prayer chain, which consists of 99 beads and which accompanies him throughout his life.
