My next first word
Poems are wanderers, as are their writers. Magdaléna Stárková's poems were created in between countries, places and languages. Home here and there and the quiet processes of getting to know each other, alienation and reconciliation are themes in the author's lyrical works. A poem wants to put down its first roots in the moments between contemplation and contemplation, but finds no ground in the space between the here of existence and the there of origin and thus grows out of a field of tension that characterizes human existence much more strongly in our time than was the case in the generations of our ancestors.
