on road

In this work, Eberhard Pfleiderer deals with the polarity of being on the move. In a juxtaposition, he considers the materially secure, voluntary being on the move of the global north on the one hand and the poor, involuntary fugitives of the global south on the other. He raises the question of the illusory dreams of those fleeing and contrasts them with the happiness projections of those who are secured. The author moves stylistically between lyrical prose and prosaic poetry. Through this interlacing of styles, he masterfully succeeds in depicting the entanglement of the two poles and making the contradictions of being on the road accessible to the reader. The impressiveness of Pfleiderer's words is supported by the works of art by the Bremerhaven sculptor Reiner Madena. The two faces of his sculptures correspond in a fascinating way with the bipolarity of his "Unterwegs-Texte". Through the dynamic alternation of text and image, the work manages to create a varied, lively mix and captivates the reader.
