Heddy, a piano teacher living alone in Berlin, is encouraged by her friend Pia to fly to her native Iran after decades. In Tehran she follows her memories of her childhood summers and her childhood sweetheart – a student who had to leave the country when the American embassy in Tehran was occupied in November 1979. Fate did not want Heddy's letters to her boyfriend to reach their destination, but decades later the same fate brings them to a point where the story could perhaps continue...
