Biography

Mitra Gaast was born in Tehran and emigrated to West Germany at the age of seventeen. She studied computer science and mathematics for several years and worked in various jobs.
She is the author of short stories and novels and lives in the Rhineland.

In Tehran she follows her memories of her childhood summers and her childhood sweetheart – a student who had to leave the country when the American embassy in Tehran was occupied in November 1979. Fate did not want Heddy's letters to her boyfriend to reach their destination, but decades later the same fate brings them to a point where the story could perhaps continue...
