Monika Dietrich-Lüders

Biography

Monika Dietrich-Lüders was born in Salzgitter and studied literature and history in Bielefeld. After a traineeship in Wilhelmshaven and training as an advertising and PR specialist, she worked for many years as a PR editor and editorial assistant for various agencies, in the PR department of a Bremen cruise operator and for several publishers. She currently teaches German as a second language at the adult education center in Bremen. She volunteers to organize various events for a cultural initiative in her district.
Her daughter suggested writing for children. Her first young adult novel was published in 2011 Ella and Max - On the trail of voodoo magic in Sujet Verlag (as a licensed edition 2013 in Schroedel Verlag).
Mawinti (Indi-Audio) produced ten stories for children as personalized children's audio books.

Ella and Max and the singing butterflies is a children's thriller about two thirteen-year-old school friends, Ella and Max, who spend a week in the Alps. Jakob, a young man, can hear butterflies singing and therefore likes to spend his time in the nearby forest. Is he the only one who can hear the butterflies? Jakob is suspected of having attacked and seriously injured a tourist in the village. He wants to be alone and away from the "beast". Ella and Max doubt his guilt and try to find out what the "beast" is. Her attempt to help puts her life in danger...
