Zia Qasemi, Afghan poet and writer, was in 1975 in Behsud, Born Afghanistan. In 1985 he emigrated to Iran with his family and continued his training until the bachelor's degree in television regional at Iran Broadcasting University. In Tehran, he founded the "House of Literature in Afghanistan" and was his head for three times. As a writer and poet, he has made a name for himself and received several awards for his literary works.

In 1986 Zia returned to Afghanistan and worked for a while in the independent aid organizations for human rights. He was also responsible for the cultural and film rubers of the newspaper Hasht‑e Subh And taught at the art academy of the University of Kabul.

Qassemi has produced two documentaries and two short films. So far, four poem volumes and two novels have been published. In addition to "Vaghti Moosa Koshte Shod" (in German midnight collectors), his most important works also include other novels and poems that deal with the issues of war, flight and identity.

In his work, Qassemi often reflects the political and social challenges of his home country. He is known for his profound analysis and his ability to present complex topics in an accessible and moving manner.
