Born in Iran in 1946, Mahmoud Hosseini Zad lives in Tehran. since c. In 1970 he worked as a translator and interpreter; He has received several grants and prizes for his translations of German literature into Persian, most recently the Goethe Medal in 2013. He has also published three collections of short stories and one novel.
green robed is the fifth volume of poetry by the Cologne poet Gerrit Wustmann; he takes the reader on a journey deep into the magnificent world of images of Persian poetry, makes reference to Rumi, Hafiz and Attar as well as to the Koran and Islamic mysticism; he sends Goethe and Hafiz for a walk and listens to Rilke's songs in the gardens of Shiraz - and verse after verse new West-East connections emerge.
