Sniffing fabric

Reality, fiction, love, death and authorship. These words describe the new novel by Ulrike Gies. They are unmistakably linked. People meet, lose sight of each other again, live and die. Destinies are interwoven: Paul, Eva, Elvira, Doris, Laila, Sybille, Ali. Eva is married to Paul. Paul had an affair with Doris. Laila is the daughter of Doris and Paul. Sybille, Doris sister, meets Ali. Ali and Doris will eventually get married and so on.
Everyone tells their own story, but they are mutually dependent. Or is it only the author who speaks through her protagonists?
Ulrike Gies combines her work as an author with the continuation of a dynamic plot, the intertwining of characters and their fictional lives. Reality and fiction mix in an expressive style.
