Conny Wischhusen

Biography

Conny Wischhusen was born in Bremerhaven in 1962 and began her artistic career in Berlin in the 1980s. In 2000 she moved back to Bremerhaven, where four years later she accepted an ABM position in the Wulsdorf culture shop. Conny Wischhusen has lived and worked as a freelance artist in Bremen since 2012. Conny Wischhusen already presents her works at a wide variety of exhibitions. These include “Scheinwelten” in 2012 in Bremen, “Stangenware” in 2016 in Syke and “Querbeet” in 2020 in Bremen. Conny Wischhusen received a Corona scholarship for self-employed artists in the state of Bremen with her project: “What color is home?” and is, among other things, a member of the Paul-Klinger artists’ social organization in Munich.

In 2014, she published the volume of poetry “Unzeit” with Eberhard Pfleiderer at Sujet Verlag, for which she created the graphics.

The freelance artist's working method was described by Martin Koroscha in 2021 as follows: “Conny Wischhusen loves color. She uses the entire range. Especially in
"Neverendingstory's cycle of works often contains idiosyncratic color compositions without ever seeming too colorful."
