Hossein Mansouri
Biography
Hossein Mansouri was born in 1956 in an Iranian leper village. At the age of six, he was adopted by the famous Iranian poet Forough Farrokhzad, who accompanied him during the filming of her award-winning documentary film The house is black got to know. When she died in a car accident, Mansouri came to Germany at the age of 21, where one of his uncles lived.
The unusual life story of Hossein Mansouri was filmed in 2007 by German filmmaker Claus Strigel in a ninety-minute documentary, a documentary fairy tale, entitled Moon Sun Flower Game filmed, supported by Arte, BR and Monument Film Munich.
Mansouri hat u.a. Werke von Autoren wie Emil Cioran, Fernando Pessoa, Eric-Emanuel Schmitt, Karl Kraus, Patrick Süskind, Paul Celan, Rose Ausländer und weitere ins Persische übersetzt und außerdem die Werke einiger iranischer Dichter wie Omar Khayyam, Forough Farrokhzad, Sohrab Sepehri, Ahmad Reza Ahmadi, Abbas Safari, Vahe Armen und Sanaz Zaresani ins Deutsche übertragen.
Er selbst schreibt auch Gedichte.
