those days is a collection of poems by Forugh Farrochsād, Iran's most important modern poet. The selection of pieces from the complete oeuvre includes not only early poems but also works from the volume of poems first published in 1964 rebirth, who claims to mark the beginning of Farrochsād's poetic work. In her work, Farrochsād goes against both literary and social conventions, thereby breaking all taboos. It does not adhere to the traditional forms of poetry and thus transfers Iranian poetry into the modern age. Her work gives women a voice in Iranian male society by describing the inner life of a woman from a female perspective in her poems for the first time. In doing so, she uses a sober realism and unreserved honesty.
This collection was already published in 1993 by Kurt Scharf at Suhrkamp Verlag. In 2017 a bilingual special edition was published by Sujet Verlag.
