The anthology “Human Rights. Universal and on the ground.” looks at the past and present of human rights. In doing so, he emphasizes how up-to-date the declaration still is 70 years after it was passed and that it is important to remember the self-commitment of the states and, in particular, to demand it from civil society. In nine essays, the authors write about individual human rights such as the ban on torture, protection of the family, the right to work, freedom of expression and many more. more
"Bremen – City of Human Rights” – under this title, the documentation refers to two fields of action in which the efforts for the Bein pursuit of a universal goal for more than seven decades. December 2018 marked the 70th anniversary of the promulgation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. It formed the starting point for a series of lectures which, in cooperation with the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen, the Bremen University of Applied Sciences and the University of Bremen, as well as the Garden of Human Rights Friends Group, provided the prerequisites for the present anthology in a special way. more
