Arrival of Poetry: Reading with Widad Nabi and Suleman Taufiq

Reading with Widad Nabi and Suleman Taufiq. Moderated by Leander Sukov – PEN Exile

In this bilingual event (German-Arabic), the two Syrian-born authors Widad Nabi and Suleman Taufiq will read from their works "Just before thirty, ... kiss me" and "I tame hope". Nabi's texts tell of insatiable longing, of loss, of pleasure and pain, of the search for human closeness. Taufiq's poetry is a bridge between two cultures - which cannot be so foreign to each other.
