IRANIAN EVENINGS (Bremen): Lyric Matinée

At our bilingual poetry matinée, the fifth reading of the IRANISCHEN EVENINGS, three wonderful volumes of poetry await you. Pegah Ahmadi presents her latest book, Wucht, in which she addresses her intense feelings towards the unknown. She is one of the best known of the Iranian poetry scene. The translator and editor Kurt Scharf will read from "Jene Tage", poems by the author Forugh Farrochsad, who died young. With her language, she breaks all taboos and deliberately opposes Iranian censorship. In addition to moderating the event, Schirin Nowrusian will also recite some of her previously unpublished poems, which is a special treat for all those present. The German-Persian poems "Unter dem Schnee" by our author Inge Buck deal with language, time and the exchange of cultures and were translated into Persian by Madjid Mohit.

The event takes place in cooperation with the Bremer Literaturkontor and the Villa Ichon.
