
Beyond all performance - reading in the Balchem house

FreeOn May 15th at 7:30 p.m. there will be a reading in the Haus Halchem district library (Severinstraße 15, 50678 Cologne). The central theme are cheerful and backlit poems and short stories. The author of Sujet Verlags Amir Shaheen will also read. Evert Everts, Petra Reachui and Rolf Polander are also represented. Admission is free.
Amir Shaheen, born in Lüdenscheid in 1966, studied German, English, theatre, film and television studies. The trained publishing clerk works as an author, editor and PR editor and writes poetry, prose, satirical material and columns. He has been publishing literary texts since 1989 and has made a name for himself in particular as a poet. His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, magazines, and on the radio, and have been included in The Great Conrady - The Book of German Poems. He is a member of PEN Germany.
For his poem "Sediment", which is part of his 2019 book of poems Traces of residual light is, he received the postpoetry.nrw prize in 2018. In 2020 he was nominated for the Literature Prize of the city of Nettetal.
