If you couldn't be there for our last reading with Nassir Djafari, then here's the perfect opportunity for you to catch up on the event. Because on August 25th, 2022, there will be another reading as part of the reading festival "Ins Offene" in the Literaturhaus Wiesbaden.

It is reading:Franziska Geyer. After studying acting at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Arts, she was engaged at the Hebbeltheater Berlin, the Stadttheater Würzburg, the Stadttheater Bonn and the Staatstheater Wiesbaden. She has been working as a freelancer since 2008 and develops, among other things, theater performances with young people.

Moderation: Ingeborg Toth. After a traineeship at the Allgemeine Zeitung Mainz, she designed the women's page for a long time. She was responsible for court reporting at the Wiesbadener Tagblatt. After the merger with the Wiesbadener Kurier, she was responsible for local politics and miscellaneous in the local editorial office.

About the book:

The late 1960s in Frankfurt are politically and socially turbulent times in which old certainties begin to falter. Especially for Mahtab, who immigrated from Iran with her husband and three children a decade earlier. Nassir Djafari also shows himself in his second novel as an accomplished and sensitive narrator who describes the development of his main character in a coherent and exciting way and accompanies him with critical sympathy.

About the author:

Nassir Djafari, born in Iran in 1952, has lived in Germany since he was five. He studied economics in Frankfurt and has held various positions in German and international development cooperation. Djafari has written numerous specialist articles and book contributions on the economic and political challenges in developing and emerging countries.One week, one life was his first novel
