Reading – “Refugee Café” Nahid Keshavarz

On Sunday our author Nahid Keshavarz is coming to the Frankfurt Book Fair to read from her anthology “Refugee Café”.
The reading will take place in the central square at the Frankfurt Book Fair, at the Amnesty International stand.
The anthology Refugee café is a collection of wondrous everyday stories from different people. The book focuses on life as a migrant with all its pain, joy and passion. The stories by Nahid Keshavarz let the reader slip into the everyday life and the thoughts of a wide variety of characters. The stories are about married couples who struggle with communication problems, breaking social conventions, dealing with the social medium "Facebook" and cultural misunderstandings. Without using heavy language to overwhelm, the author uses her various characters to show numerous facets of people who can no longer live in their home country. Last but not least, she manages to convey the stories so realistically that you can find yourself reading in a chatty café.
