Reading with Angelika Sinn: "Between Heaven and Tündük"

On Saturday March 26, 2022 at 6:00 p.m reads our author Angelika Sinn from her Kyrgyz travel journal»Between Heaven and Tündük« in “Mimi’s legacy” – space for art, Findorffstraße 10, Worpswede, while at the same time an exhibition of Isabel Pauer's Kyrgyzstan drawings is taking place (Friday, March 25th to Sunday, March 27th). Peter Klug will give the welcome and introduction to the pictures.
An invitation to a symposium for artists and writers takes the author Angelika Sinn to a yurt camp on the lonely mountain lake Issyk Kul. But it is not so much the exchange between artists that becomes a profound experience, but nature itself gives her the happiness of short moments of merging with the so foreign landscape.
In poetic images, Angelika Sinn tells how Kyrgyzstan "catapults" her out of her familiar "worlds". But also unexpected encounters with locals, an almost kidnapping or an overnight stay in a guesthouse that turns out to be a brothel, let the reader share in their special experiences, which "the smell of wet felt" will also evoke at home.
Admission is free. Instead, at this event we ask for a donation to the Uplift-Aufwind e.V. association, which supports children's homes and families in Kyrgyzstan.
A portion of the proceeds from sold drawings also go to Uplift-Aufwind.
