Dilo is 16 years old when he leaves his hometown of Qamishlo. He is looking for a better life, flees the strictness of his parents' home, flees the hostility and discrimination that he has to experience as a Kurd in Syria. His destination is Paris, which for him is synonymous with inner and outer freedom. Young as he is, he has no idea what lies ahead, although he grew up with the story of the Kurds and their constant distress. Dilo is 16 years old when he leaves his hometown of Qamishlo. The way is long. Temptations and hostility, friendship and betrayal, violence and love and many new questions await Dilo. However, he does not lose one thing on his way: the desire for a free, self-determined life among equals, without prejudice and repression.
