Reading with Fariba Vafi – “The Dream of Tibet”

Look forward to an exciting reading in German and Persian by the multiple literature prize winner Fariba Vafi. On April 12th she will come to Vienna during her two-week reading tour and will read from her latest work there The Dream of Tibet (from the Persian by Jutta Himmelreich).
The search for freedom and the desire for self-determination also play an important role in "The Dream of Tibet". The young Scholeh suffers from lovesickness and flees to her half-sister Schiwa and her husband Javid. While Scholeh is plagued by her own worries, she begins to question the happiness of the others: Is Schiwa happy with her husband? Does Djawid dream bigger than a family? What do intimacy, adultery and criticism of authority mean?
