Mortar with Widad Nabi

We look forward to the Open Books poetry reading of Invisible breaks with our author Widad Nabi on October 21, 2021 at 4 p.m. in exhibition hall 1a at Schulstraße 1a, 60594 Frankfurt am Main.

Widad Nabi's poems are about unfathomable love, looking back on the past, searching for home.
Openly feminist, the poet gives an insight into her identity as a woman and mother. In her poems, she also processes her experiences with illness and suffering in a personal and approachable way. The contact with other cultures and languages, which characterizes Widad Nabi's works, is expressed through the attempt at a literary dialogue with the most important poets and authors in literary history, such as Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann. Literature and language as a means of crossing borders is one of the core characteristics of her work.
