Audio book presentation and discussion with Petra-Janina Schultz and Madjid Mohit
Shohre is in her early thirties and lives as a taxi driver in Kermanshah, Iran. She takes us on her tour of the city and lets us experience through her eyes all the fun, crazy and painful encounters that make up the life of a divorced working woman in Iran.
Maryam Djahani's novel is ironic and at the same time sensitively told, her tone is never sentimental or pitying. The novel is a wild ride in a cab named Elizabeth with a driver who doesn't take her foot off the accelerator.
The book is to be published by Sujet Verlag in January and will also be published as an audio book at the same time. Petra-Janina Schultz read it and read excerpts from it. The evening will be accompanied by Madjid Mohit, founder of Sujet Verlag, who will provide an insight into the history of the publishing house and its literature.
