On this poetry evening in the Franz Leuwer bookstore, Bernd Jaeger presents his two newly published and revised volumes of poetry “Ganymedische Einsic
hten” and “The light at the end of the tunnel”. Bernd Jaeger's poems, written between 1967 and 2000, approach the events of life through his art of formulation. He deals with everyday topics, but the associative and creative aspects are retained, not least through the ability to look at the contradictions of existence with distance-creating irony and self-irony.
Bernd Jaeger was born in Kiel in 1948 and has lived in Bremen since 1977. In 1980 he received the Bremen Senate Prize for Literature. In 2006 his trilogy "Meister Mensch" was published, a collection of poems, cycles and lyrical prose. He works as a freelance writer.
