Fariba Vafi wishes for freedom to write. The important writer recently moved from Iran to Berlin. "The young women have flown off and they can no longer be caught," she says of the younger generation. "She fights back and screams. That's new.” She talks to Ali Abdollahi, Iranian poet, Germanist and translator, about the protests, the uncontrollable city of Tehran, about writing under the conditions of oppression, about multilingualism and the coexistence of cultures.
