In Bertolt Brecht's »Refugee Conversations« in exile, one of the protagonists ironically says: »The passport is the noblest part of a person.« In the spirit of this, the Kurdish-Syrian poet Widad Nabi and the Yemeni poet Galal Alahmadi talk about their own experiences in exile and read texts influenced by this. Both authors write for the portal for literature from war and crisis zones "Write On". There they work together with well-known German-speaking authors - and enrich the media discourse by thwarting stereotypes and offering direct access to new perspectives. The evening will be accompanied by the band Matar, which effortlessly combines Schubert's songs with modern Arabic sounds.
