We are very much looking forward to the bilingual reading of “When the war was over, peace killed the people” With Garous Abdolmalekian on Wednesday, December 23. August 2023 im Subject Salon-Text‚n Art. Abdolmalekian reads from a selection of his poems, which Jutta Himmelreich translated into German and which was published by Sujet Verlag in 2021. The event is hosted by Dr. Inge Buck moderated. The translator Jutta Himmelreich will be present. The event is a cooperation between Sujet Verlag and the Bremer Literaturkontor e.V. and the Association West-Eastern Diwan: intercultural exchange e.V.
Abdolmalekian is an important contemporary poet and a critical voice of the young generation. He recently received the Roddi literary prize in Italy as an influential poet. He is currently at a poetry festival in the south of France.
