Description
In this novel, Amir Hassan Cheheltan tells a story about the life of Keramat. He's handsome, brave and brutal. At ten he ran away from home to Tehran and sold his body. On the eve of the Islamic Revolution, he joins a gang that runs brothels and takes action against undesirable political gatherings. He capitalizes on the war between Iran and Iraq by organizing a black market in medicines and food. After the revolution, as thanks for crushing opposition groups, Kerâmat was given the post of warden in a notorious prison for political prisoners.
Although Kerâmat is a contradictory character, Amir Hassan Cheheltan makes him the hero of the new book. In this figure, the contradictions of today's Iran crystallize, which the author expresses in a poetic and touching language.
This novel has already been published in German and Arabic translations and is being published for the first time in an uncensored, unabridged version in the original Persian.
