Description
Abstract:
Exactly four working days later, Claudia's landline connection is dead. Dead as a mouse, and permanently. I call the service number of our new provider and describe the situation. Yes, I am happily confirmed, the connection was activated just today.
"Great! But where, please?” I was told our new address.
"It's nice that you're so quick, but the previous tenant still lives there. Can you please undo this? They told us it would take four to six weeks!”
"Yes, that's right. Usually. But the colleague who processes the new applications is going on vacation next week. That's why she did some preliminary work."
gosh! If the colleague who has to process such applications doesn't go on vacation, i.e. is in the office eight hours a day, then she doesn't have time and it takes four to six weeks. But if she knows she won't be there for a while, let's say two to three weeks, does she suddenly have enough time to process all new applications within four working days? And, strangely enough, your colleagues from the technical department are suddenly just as quick and carry out the activation immediately...?

I haven't laughed that much in a long time!
A really great book. It describes so much of what you know about moving and renovating, and the style and language make it all the more fun.

Anyone who has ever moved will remember it as they read. Just told in a wonderfully humorous way. Rarely had so much joy and fun reading. That would be a book to film again ala 'Maria, he doesn't like it'. Why hasn't anyone figured that out yet?
