04.03.2022 at 19:00
The opening of the special exhibition "Bremen speaks" will take place on March 4th at 7 p.m.
Moderation Dr. Bora Accent, Music Marcia Bittencourt
There are 7,500 different languages in the world. 80 of them are spoken in Bremen. From March 5th to May 29th, the exhibition "Bremen speaks" shows which languages these are and where in Bremen they are spoken - from Arabic to Low German and sign language to Zulu. An up-to-date linguistic portrait of Bremen is created on the basis of various specially prepared maps. In addition to the maps, there are also books, films and audio stations that bring the different languages closer. The supporting program includes taster language courses, discussions and a concert.
The exhibition was created on the initiative of the Center for Migrants and Intercultural Studies. Numerous Bremen institutions have contributed to the realization.
