Closing with Gerda Bier

In Bremen in the newly opened Subject Text’n Fair Art are by the sculptress Gerda Bier sculpturesand Materialcollagen of their various work phases and working methods from mid-July to mid-September. The focus of her artistic work is Figure, standing, lying, hung on the wall, or formulated as a pair of figures. The sculptor works with her wood and iron, preferably with wood that has a story. In addition to the figurative sculpture, the exhibition also Materialcollagen shown with fabric, cardboard and self-made paper, drawn with pastel chalk, ink, graphite and tinctures.

Die finissage  The highly acclaimed exhibition in Bremen ends on Saturday, September 16th with a conversation with the artist about her work and her working methods. The event will be moderated by Inge Buck.

Gerda Bier, The winner of the Erich Heckel Prize and the Hohenlohe Art Prize is one of the outstanding artistic personalities in southern Germany. She has been working as a freelance artist since she was a student at the Berlin University of the Arts. She has made a name for herself for decades with exhibitions and large-scale works in public space.
