Commemoration event and book presentation by Ulrike Gies

Am 01/31/2022 at 7:00 p.m is an online memorial event for our author who died in 2020 Ulrike Gies instead, at the same time for the first time from her posthumously published book Sniffing fabric is read. The publisher ,, the author Inge Buck and the head of LitQ Cornelius Kopf-Finke will read texts and give speeches.

Ulrike Gies was born in Dortmund in 1953 and studied sociology, journalism and philosophy in Münster. She has been a writer since 1980, initially with prose and later also with poetry. Her novel was published after many publications in magazines, anthologies and on the radio Perspectives of the time difference (Berlin, 1988) and the volume of poetry Störamöben (Berlin, 1994).

In her last work Sniffing fabric is aboutReality, fiction, love, death and authorship. These words are unmistakably linked. People meet, lose sight of each other again, live and die. Destinies are intertwined. Everyone tells their own story, but they are mutually dependent. Or is it only the author who speaks through her protagonists?
