Reading "I'm not a foreigner, that's just my name"

On Friday the 22.04. will Amir Shaheen in the Altena City Library from his novel I'm not a foreigner, that's just my name read. Start of the event is at 19:30 o'clockand admission from 7 p.m.
There will be a book table from the Katerlöh bookstore.

When a German native speaker has an Arabic name, it raises legitimate questions in everyday life. If someone like Amir Shaheen is also a writer and publishes books, well, then it makes sense to want to know whether his texts will be translated – into German!

Amir Shaheen, born in Lüdenscheid in 1966, studied German, English, theatre, film and television studies. The trained publishing clerk works as an author, editor and PR editor and writes poetry, prose, satirical material and columns. He has been publishing literary texts since 1989 and has made a name for himself in particular as a poet. His poems have appeared in numerous anthologies, magazines and on the radio, and have been included in Der Große Conrady - Das Buch deutscher Poems. Member of PEN Germany.
