Reading by Fariba Vafi in Berlin

07.17.2021 a 17:00

Together with the Bübül Verlag from Berlin, we would like to invite you to a reading by the author Fariba Vafi!

The reading in Persian and German will take place with Fariba Vafi, the translator and cultural mediator Nushin Mameghanian-Prenzlow and the artist Ina Abuschenko-Matweeva. Tanja Langer from Bübül Verlag will moderate the event.

The Iranian author Fariba Vafi reads from her novel The Dream of Tibet (published by us at Sujet Verlag). She is also presenting her story “Die Reise im Zug” (published by Bübül Verlag Berlin) as a book premiere, together with her translator Nuschin Mameghanian-Prenzlow. The story is accompanied by works by the artist Ina Abuschenko-Matveyeva.

The discussion, in which the audience will also be involved, will revolve around numerous questions: when and how does material become a novel and when does it become a story? Which formal aspects play a role here? Did Fariba Vafi's topics or her view of them change during her stay in Berlin during the pandemic?

Afterwards there will be a social get-together with drinks and snacks - should it be possible in view of the pandemic.
