Martin Bührig: The Other

We look forward to the book launch of The other by the author Martin Bührig on September 22 in the Franz Leuwer bookshop in Bremen at 7:00 p.m.
Martin Bührig's poems belong neither to daily political poetry nor to political poetry in general. They stand in the centuries-old tradition of poetry of private concern, which is inherent in all people who live in their respective situations and times.
The poems are addressed to a you. They are love poems. And the diversity of love is reflected in the abundance of images that become metaphors: the river, the wind, the sky, the flight of swallows, the shadow, the dream, the stranger.
Martin Bührig
Martin Bührig was born in Bochum in 1957. He studied medicine and philosophy in Siena, Hamburg and Lübeck. This was followed by training in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Since 2003 he has been chief physician at the psychiatric treatment center in Bremen. His stories "Days of the Day" were published in 1982 by Wagner Verlag. This was followed by publications in literary magazines (“Westfalenspiegel”, “Passagen”, etc.). In Donat Verlag he published the volumes of poetry: "Fortgang-Flucht" (2008). "Return" (2011); "Virgil's Shadow" (2016).
