Musical poetry evening with Pegah Ahmadi and Jutta Himmelreich in Bonn: Power

The Goethe and Hafis Verlag and the Röttgener Buchhandlung invite you to a musical evening of poetry in German and Persian in Bonn - our author Pegah Ahmadi and her volume of poetry "Wucht" will also be there, as well as her wonderful translator Jutta Himmelreich!

Pegah Ahmadi was born in Iran in 1974, studied Persian language and literature and is a poet, translator and literary critic and is one of the best-known faces of the Iranian poetry scene. In 2009 she came to Frankfurt, where she was able to write without censorship for the first time. She has not yet returned to Iran. "Wucht" is her latest of 10 works published so far, in which she draws a tableau of the impressions and stimuli that a person in exile can encounter through vivid, contradictory and sometimes shocking language.

Jutta Himmelreich, who we welcome to Cologne together with Ahmadi, studied Romance Studies, American Studies and Ethnology in Frankfurt, Tucson, Arizona and Paris. She has been working as a translator and interpreter in German, English, French, Spanish and Farsi since 1985 and sees herself as a diplomat in the services of world literature.
