Online talk "Raqqa am Rhein" with Jabbar Abdullah

Am December 17 at 6:00 p.m find one online reading including a conversation with our author Jabbar Abdullah instead, which of Action New Neighbors is organized. Showing excerpts from his new novel Raqqa am Rhein read and talked to the author about life in Syria, the revolution and the "Calls for Humanism" that rang out all over the country in 2011 and asked what moved him to write down his memories. And what art and literature can contribute to reappraisal and peace.

The reading will Jörg Hustiak (Speaker ARD/arte) take over the moderation Ulrich Noller (Author and journalist for various media, with a focus on WDR).

Jabbar Abdullah is an archaeologist, author and curator from Syria. At the end of 2012, at the age of 24, he had to flee from Raqqa to Alexandria (Egypt). There he studied for a master's degree and came to Cologne in 2014, where he has lived ever since. In addition to his work at the Romano-Germanic Museum, he is very active in the Syrian-German cultural scene. He curates art exhibitions and literary festivals and is committed to cultural exchange and successful integration. In addition to numerous campaigns that he initiated, he is also co-founder and second chairman of the association 17_3_17, which aims to promote the exchange of German and Syrian culture.
