Journeys in Literature – 3rd evening in prose

The third evening of prose in the Bremen Shakespeare Company presents the works of the Iranian author Ghazi Rabihavi and the German-Iranian author Nava Ebrahimi.

Nadji and Djamil, two young men experience for the first time what it means to be homosexual in traditional southern Iran. the novel "Sons of Love" by writer-director Ghazi Rabihavi is starring in
of contemporary history shortly before and shortly after the Iranian revolution and addresses encounters between different minorities who are excluded from society. Rabihavi impresses with his magical and exciting storytelling.

"The cousin"/ "My Neighbor's Paradise" from Nava Ebramihi:

While fleeing Iran towards Canada, mother and son are arrested in Thailand and end up in prison. "These six months became the restricted area, the Chernobyl of the family history, which was losing ground anyway," writes Nava Ebrahimi. When gay Kian meets his cousin on a stage in New York, he finally dances the unsaid. What happened to the young man after leaving the country with forged papers in a men's prison in Bangkok?

An ensemble member of the Bremen Shakespeare Company will read from the book "Söhne der Liebe". Translator Gorji Marzban will be present on site.
