Journeys into literature – 2nd evening of poetry

The second poetry evening at Villa Ichon presents the new volume of poetry "Invisible Fractures" by Widad Nabi now bilingual as well as the volume of poetry "My prince, I am the ghetto" by Dincer Gucyet before.

The remarkable work Invisible Fractures, published in two languages, deals with the author's everyday experiences as a woman and mother, giving us an openly feminist insight. The contact with other cultures and languages, which characterizes Widad Nabi's works, is expressed through the attempt at a literary dialogue with the most important poets and authors in literary history, such as Paul Celan and Ingeborg Bachmann.

The volume of poetry "My Prince, I am the Ghetto" by the award-winning author and publisher of Elif Verlag Dinçer Güçyeter addresses the roots of his homeland and his family and the confrontation of new ways of life with traditional or conservative ideas about life.

The focus of the discussion that follows is on the poetry scene, particularly on non-German contemporary poetry.

Dincer Gucyeter, born in 1979, founded Elif Verlag in 2012 with a focus on poetry. Individual volumes and anthologies with numerous readings throughout Germany followed.
