What remains: poetry and music with Inge Buck and Elshan Ghasimi
08.30.2018 a 19:00 - 21:00
Touched and inspired by the bilingual book of poetry under the snow the poet Inge Buck, translated into Persian by Madjid Mohit, the Iranian musician and composer Elshan Ghasimi has created her own compositions. She has translated the poetic world of images, the rhythms and metaphors into a congenial musical language on the Persian string instrument tar.
A poetic dialogue between poetry and music, between Orient and Occident, between the poems by Inge Buck and the musical interpretations by Elshan Ghasimi: "The sounds come to me when I read the poems."
A bow is drawn between the cultures. In the dialogue and in the silence between Persian music and German-language text, worlds emerge from lines and sounds in front of the listener's inner eye: about cityscapes and nature, seasons and lifetime, about forgetting and remembering, about war, exile and refugee homes, about the language of the Books and the Keeping of Lost Things in Poem.
Elshan Ghasimi and Inge Buck, two artists from different cultures, languages and generations meet in their interaction: the texts open up to the music, the music to the texts.
In cooperation with the book and art dealer Franz Leuwer and the Bremer Literaturkontor.
