Suleman Taufiq: Strange World

(1 customer review)

The poems by Suleman Taufiq and the photos / graphics by Johannes Traub are juxtaposed and yet exist independently of each other.
They lead a rather inconspicuous, associative dialogue with each other. In his poetry, Suleman Taufiq shows that what is foreign is undermined by diverse impressions, scraps of memory and fantasies. But his poems are also a kind of declaration of love to a stranger that becomes more and more familiar over time. For him it is a place of encounter, of development. With his graphically alienated photos and graphics, Johannes Traub seeks structure and orientation in a complex world. He examines his location, explores his state of mind and encourages the viewer to question his perception and to become aware of what he really sees.

    A real eye-catcher!
This book of poetry is beautiful. I bought it because I noticed the cover. And it doesn't promise too much!
The graphics are really interesting to look at and incredibly aesthetic. Together with the lyrics, the whole thing results in a total work of art!
