Bremen book premiere Martin Bührig – “Symbolon”: Lyrical reading with music and conversation

Sujet Verlag, together with Kulturambulanz and Literaturhaus Bremen, invites you to the Bremen book premiere of the new volume of poetry “Symbolon” by Martin Bührig.
The focus of the evening are two volumes of poetry that deal in different ways with questions of the present, memory and identity. Martin Bührig presents his new volume of poetry “Symbolon” (2026) and meets the author Inge Buck with her current volume of poetry “The Secret of the Pigeon” (2025).
The title “Symbolon” takes up a motif from antiquity: a broken piece of recognition whose meaning is only revealed when it is put together. Based on this image, Bührig develops a poetic reflection on belonging, encounters and identity. His poetry is close to nature, sensitive and at the same time firmly anchored in the present.
Inge Buck's volume of poetry "The Secret of the Pigeon" moves in the area of tension between the poetry of the everyday and the global conflicts of our time. Her texts combine observations from nature and everyday life with the major upheavals of the present and open up powerful perspectives on a fragile world.
The reading is accompanied musically by Dieter Weische on the bamboo flute.
The event will be moderated by Madjid Mohit (Sujet Verlag).
