ENSEMBLE LAPIS LAZULI - With their current program "Sonata for the Night"

Her new program "Sonata for the Night" is dedicated to this Esemble Lapis Lazuli am October 28, 2021 at 8:00 p.m the setting of poems and stories by Suleman Taufiq.

They act as a source of inspiration and a bridge between the Arabic, Mediterranean and Central European, Western cultures. The stories experience a partly free, collective, improvisational accompaniment, in the tradition of Arabic storytellers (originally accompanied only by a nay and frame drum), partly composed sound textures that unite the text parts - spoken and sung in both Arabic and German give an atmospheric frame. The goal is a kind of pan-Arabic-European mystery play that tries to merge poetry, narrative, classical, oriental folklore and jazz improvisations with early baroque tonal beauty.
