Reading "Refugee Café" - Nahid Keshavarz
20.06.2019 a 19:00 - 20:30
On the occasion of World Refugee Day, the central library of the Hamburg book halls is organizing a bilingual reading - in Farsi and German - in cooperation with the Intercultural Forum Hamburg Nahid Keshavarz. The anthology "Refugee Café" is a collection of wondrous everyday stories from different people. The book focuses on life as a migrant with all its pain, joy and passion. The stories by Nahid Keshavarz let the reader slip into the everyday life and the thoughts of a wide variety of characters. The stories are about married couples who struggle with communication problems, breaches of social conventions or cultural misunderstandings.
Nahid Fallahi-Keshavarz came to Germany from Iran 30 years ago and studied journalism in her home country. In Germany she trained as an alternative practitioner for psychological counseling. She is currently working full-time as the manager of "FliehKraft", the Cologne refugee center and as a psychological consultant. She also works as a journalist part-time. She has published countless articles on the subject of migration, women fleeing and psychological problems of migrants.
