Reading: Bernd Jaeger reads from “Little Days in Closing”
The Bremen poet Bernd Jaeger will read from his volume of poetry “Kleine Tage in Klausur” on Tuesday, May 7th in the Text’n Art rooms at Sujet Verlag. In this he writes with a distancing (self-)irony about his everyday thoughts and prayers, which succeeds in making readers both laugh and think. Reading with Ali Abdollahi in Dresden
On September 12th, Ali Abdollahi is coming to Dresden to present his volumes of poetry and his anthology “A Thief in the Dark Stares at a Painting”. The anthology was published by us in 2021 and is a collection of Persian-language poetry from the 21st century that Ali Abdollahi selected and translated together with Kurt Scharf. Bremen Book Mile
We are looking forward to being part of the 3rd Bremen Book Mile this year on September 4th, 2021 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Langenstraße. Organized by the bookstore Storm, we are one of more than 40 independent publishers and publishers from Bremen from the German-speaking area who are presenting themselves together. There are books for big and small readers to discover, authors to hear live and publishers and their programs to experience. The supporting program consists of more than 20 readings on four open-air stages.

Reading with Ramy Al-Asheq in Berlin
On September 2, 2021, the Syrian-Palestinian author Ramy Al-Asheq will read from his collection of poetry, Gedächtnishunde, as part of the reading series "Berlin Contemporary Literature". Opening of the exhibition "Distant Companions" by Gunther Gerlach
From May 2nd to July 31st, sculptures and drawings by the Bremen artist and author Gunther Gerlach will be on display at the Barfuss Gallery in Hamburg. "Forough Farrochsād, poetess of protest” – An article by Nina Abassi in humanistic! magazine
Today we would like to draw your attention to a thought-provoking article that appeared some time ago in the humanistic! magazine (issue 02/2020). Forugh Farrochsād, of whom we published German translations of her poems in 2018, is described here as Iran's most important modern poet. Her work ruthlessly holds up a mirror to the society of her country of origin, breaking a number of taboos in the process. New Review – “Memory Dogs” by Ramy Al-Asheq
